Ref: PXL/H.O./CIR-026/2016-17 Date: 24.06.2016
Hyderabad
Dear Sir/Madam,
Sub: DGFT Notification No. 9/2015-2020 dt. 4th June, 2015 regarding reduction in value limit for export of “freely exportable goods” – regarding.
As our members are aware, DGFT vide the above notification has reduced the maximum limit of “freely exportable goods” to Rs. 10 lakhs/2% of annual FOB, whichever is lower. However, earlier the limit was Rs. 10 lakhs or 2% FOB of exports, whichever is higher. Keeping in view the importance and requirement for supply of medicines on ‘free of cost basis’ for various purposes like product registrations, quality testing, market promotion etc., Pharmexcil had represented to DGFT for revival of the decision. Earlier, in a meeting convened by DGFT, DG had agreed to favorably consider our representation. However, the matter remained pending.
In a recent meeting held with senior officers of DGFT, the Authorities have suggested that Pharmexcil may collect data from exporters and suggest a reasonable figure for considering a higher limit for “freely exportable goods”. The authorities have suggested that the representation should be based on data submitted by exporters.
In view of the importance of the matter and above discussions with DGFT authorities, we request our members to submit the following data for compilation and submission to DGFT:
