Subject: Meeting in Commerce Ministry, Government of India - Business Enhancing in Pharmaceutical Sector with South Korea

Date: 16th January 2015 at 3.00 PM

Venue: Conference Room, Room No. 141, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi

You are kindly aware that Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India has been initiating various measures for exploring opportunities for promoting exports  Indian Pharmaceuticals.  

The Ministry has proposed to hold the India-Korea CEPA Joint Committee meeting at Ministerial level in Seoul in February 2015 to review implementation of the CEPA and related issues.

Against this background, though at a very short notice, Pharmexcil has received the intimation from Ministry of Commerce and Industry regarding a meeting  with industry representatives being organized on 16^th Jan 2015 in Udyog Bhawan, Delhi. The proposed meeting will be Chaired by Joint Secretary FT (North East Asia) Division of Department of Commerce. Department seeks to have the direct inputs from industry representatives.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:  

1. To obtain from the industry representatives inputs on specific export opportunities South Korea
2. To obtain inputs from industry representatives on specific issues arising out of imports of specific products/services from South Korea
3. To obtain feedback from industry representatives on issues and regulatory bottlenecks which impact our exports of goods and services to South Korea
4. To take note of the challenges faced by Indian corporates which have entered into investment or technical collaboration with entities based in South Korea
5. To discuss with industry representatives the efficacy of policy measures currently in place and deliberate on other measures which can be adopted for augmenting India's exports to South Korea and reducing the trade deficit. 

It is an opportunity for our members to share their inputs with Senior Government Officers.

Members may like to forward their inputs/issues related to Korea market to Pharmexcil for taking it up in case they find it difficult to participate in the meeting at such a short notice.
