Subject: Seminar on Export Opportunities of Pharmaceuticals products in Latin American Countries
10th February 2015, Indian Merchant Chamber, Churchgate, Mumbai
You are kindly aware the LAC region is regarded as a very important pharma exporting destination for India. So far LAC have been doing substantial purchases of generics and bulk drugs from the Indian pharma companies.
Latin America region is an important exporting destination for India Pharma Exports. LAC has contributed 6.28% to the total exports. Pharma exports to this region have grown by 10.35% during 2012-13. During 2013-14, the exports to the region have been 933 MnUS$. Brazil, in this region is our largest export destination. Further, Argentina will now allow the import of formulations from India and therefore has now opened up its market to Indian formulations. The Argentina drug market is expected to be around $6 billion at the moment, expected to grow to $ 15 billion by 2020.
Against the backdrop of various initiatives by Department of Pharmaceuticals and Department of Commerce and Industry, Pharmexcil is pleased to announce a Seminar on Latin American Market to discuss various issues, strategies and activities to seize the immense opportunity.
The broad outline of the programme will be as follows:
Insight into Export Opportunities, issues and Challenges in the region
Initiatives and schemes of Department of Pharmaceuticals and Department of Commerce
Discussion on Regulatory Issues
The Seminar will be graced by senior level officers from Department of Pharmaceuticals, Department of Commerce, CDSCO, DCGI and DGFT. Further, there will be distinguished speakers from FDAs of LAC , market consultants and Indian pharma Industry to provide insight and guidance. We are also inviting regulators from Peru, Guatemala and consultants as well.
