Joint Workshop on Dietary Supplements-Global Regulations & Quality Standards

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

 

Subject: USP-Dietary Supplement's workshop in collaboration with Pharmexcil on Thursday, 25-Feb-2016 at Hotel Courtyard by Marriot, Mumbai.

 

We are glad to inform member companies that Pharmexcil and USP is organising one day joint workshop on "DietarySupplements-Regulations & Quality Standards" at Hotel Courtyard by Marriot, Mumbai on 25th Feb.2016.

 

The workshop will focus on regulations pertaining to Vitamins, Minerals & USP perspective on them and offer guidance and detailed information on Supplement adulteration. The workshop would focus on modern techniques such as use of DNA to detect adulterants in botanical species.

 

USP's third party certification program recognized by global markets for exports of dietary supplements and stand-alone audits would also be discussed.

 

It would also explore export opportunities and challenges in Dietary Supplements globally. The global dietary supplements (vitamins, minerals, botanicals, etc.) market is now valued at $82 billion, with roughly 28 percent of that in the U.S., where sales increased by approximately $6 billion between 2007 and 2012. Growth is expected to remain strong through 2017 - between 5 and 6 percent a year both globally and in the U.S*.

This workshop presents an opportunity to interact with stakeholders representing dietary supplement & ingredient manufacturers, government officials, and academia to obtain industry benchmark information, network with thought leaders, and contribute early in the standard setting of USP.
