Serbian State-owned 'Galenika Pharmaceuticals'
is looking for Strategic Partner

Dear Sir / Madam,
We received a communication from Indian Embassy, Serbia informing that Serbian Minister of Economy has recently announced that privatization of State-owned 'Galenika Pharmaceuticals' (www.galenika.rs) will be carried out through strategic partnership by means of recapitalization. It is understood that Public tender is expected in early April 2016. The Serbian Government is looking for a foreign Partner that will manage and recapitalize Galenika and once the company reaches its full manufacturing capacities, then the Government will look to sell 85% of its share in the company. Galenika is the one of the largest pharma manufacturers in Serbia and figures among the largest suppliers of the state-owned public health insurance sector. Since Serbia is enjoying preferred status with EU and CIS countries because of FTAs, investing in a Serbian manufacturing facility, would help to have better access to these markets. Copy of the communication received from Embassy is enclosedherewith for reference of members.
In view of the above, we suggest that Indian companies may look into this opportunity of enhancing their exports to EU and CIS countries. For more information on the privatization of Galenika, following officials may be contacted:
