Subject:Opportunities to explore Generic Market in Australia- Proposing Delegation to Australia during the month of September 2016.

Members may be kindly aware Pharmaceuticals Market in Australia presents a great opportunity for generics in the recent past and Australian imports of Pharmaceutical products were US$2093 million in 2014-15 a rise of 14.0 % over the previous year 2013-14.

Australia is the 10^th largest destination for India’s Pharmaceutical exports, with a great scope for promoting more and more generics to Australia. India’s export of Pharmaceuticals to Australia is to the tune of USD 233 mn during the year 2015-16 with a growth rate of 13% over the previous year. With the expiry of patents of number of key innovator drugs along with the changes in PBS (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme) of the Australian government, there will be scope for India generic manufacturers to enter Australian market

We are also glad to inform that Consulate General of India at Sydney is actively working on promoting Pharmaceuticals from India and thereby proposed Pharmexcil to bring Delegation during the month of September 2016.

Keeping in view of the market potential and the recommendation by our Mission in Australia, we would request member companies to take advantage of this opportunity and confirm their participation. It may be kindly noted that based on the response from member companies, we would be finalizing the dates for the delegation soon and the same would be communicated in the next circular.
