INTERACTIVE MEETING WITH

Dear Sir / Madam,
As members are aware, with the efforts of Industry and support from Department of Commerce/ Pharmexcil, Pharma sector has registered an export growth of 17% during Financial Year 2015-16 and crossed l Lakh Crore export turnover ending with Rs. 1,10,474 Crore. This has been achieved even when several other sectors have shown negative export performance.
However, during the first quarter of this Financial Year, it is noted that pharmaceutical exports have shown negative growth by 0.5%. Having been alarmed by this negative performance, Shri Sudhanshu Pandey IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce is keen to interact with industry leaders to extend possible support. Accordingly, an interactive meeting is organized as per following schedule:

Primarily, the following issues would be discussed.

General issues adversely impacting exports
-
Delays in realization of payments from countries like Venezuela, Nigeria, Angola etc, due to the shortage of foreign currency in respective countries.

Strengthening pharma exports in Russia through joint ventures and collaborations etc.
In view of the importance of the meeting, we request all the Senior Management Executives to take note of the above meeting and utilize the opportunity to interact with Joint Secretary.
