India Africa Health Sciences Meet (IAHSM), 1-3 September 2016
Members are aware of the fact that in the past few years the Pharma Trade between in India and Africa has flourished with tremendous pace. In order to achieve further growth in the bilateral trade, shared health goals and addressing diseases of common concern between India and Africa. Pharmexcil along with ICMR is organizing a session on "Advancing Industrial cooperation in Pharma and Healthcare Sector"
In order to have comprehensive discussion and formulate a roadmap ahead for building partnership with Africa in the area of Healthcare, the three day IAHSM has been designed to focus on institutional co-operation, capacity building, industrial co-operation, contract manufacturing, research and education.
A session incorporating three breakout sessions has been designed for interaction on 2nd September from 2.00pm till 6.30PM. The Session titled "Advancing Industrial Co-operation in Pharma and Healthcare" is devoted to understanding the needs of Africa and how India can extend its support.
The topics for discussion on this broad theme would be:
1. Institutional Co-operation for Human Resource Development for Industrial Processes, Product Development and Distribution
2. Recognition of Indian Pharmacopeia and Regulatory Environment in Africa - Challenges and way forward
3. Africa based Manufacturing - Case studies for a way Forward
A brief note outlining the key discussion points is attached herewith for kind reference.
After initial discussion and sharing of views on the overall theme of Advancing Industrial cooperation in Pharma and Healthcare Sector, three different breakout moderated sessions will be conducted to come with key outputs/strategies.
In view of the significance of the interactive session and the importance of formulating a roadmap for building partnership with Africa, we would request member companies to nominate their Senior Officers for attending the session.
