You are kindly aware   that Pharmexcil has been steadfastly focusing on market access to Latin American region as one of the objective to promote export. Over the years the LAC region has thrown up new challenges in terms of regulatory compliances.

Brief Profile of Mr. Rengaraj Viswanathan Mr. R. Viswanathan is the former Indian Ambassador to Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay (2007-12). The career diplomat has also served as the Indian envoy to Venezuela and as the first Consul General of India in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His specialization in Latin America has seen him head the Ministry of External Affairs' division on Latin America and the Caribbean. Post-retirement, he is Distinguished Fellow, Latin America Studies, at the foreign policy think-tank Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations.

Chronology of an illustrious Career

·        Ambassador of India to Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay - October 2007 to May 2012. Retired from there on 31 may 2012

·        Head of the Latin America Division in the Ministry of External Affairs of India - 2004 to 2007.

·        Head of Investment and Trade Promotion Division in the Ministry, 2003 - 2004

·        Ambassador to Venezuela 2000-2003.

·        Consul General of India in Sao Paulo - 1996 to 2000.

·        Previous postings include New York (mission to the United Nations), Mauritius, Libya, Pakistan and Portugal
