Subject: BSM-CUM-Expo in Yangon, Myanmar, 29-30th March 2017

 

This is further to our circular dated 25th January 2016 requesting you to block your diary.

 

You may also kindly recall the circular dated 19th December 2016 with regards to opportunity for exporting to Myanmar.

 

We thank you for the overwhelming response and we take this opportunity to revert back with further developments.

 

You were informed about the massive procurement plan of the Ministry of Health in Myanmar. India definitely would get a preference in their overall procurement plan.

 

In the overall import of pharmaceuticals India remains the leader with over 33% share. However, there remains huge opportunity for tapping. Myanmar government is also looking for comprehensive healthcare services. Therefore Department of Commerce is planning to integrate all the elements of healthcare needs like hospitals, hospital supplies, expertise of doctors, medical devices, traditional medicine system and pharmaceuticals in the model being planned.

 

As one of the key decisions taken during the meeting, it has been proposed to organize an Expo-Cum-BSM in Myanmar during 28-30th March 2017.

 

In view of the importance of market, besides large number of participation expected from our exporter members, a very high level delegation comprising of top officials from Ministry of Commerce, DCGI and Department of Pharmaceuticals would be participating and take up the relevant issues with their Government counterparts.

 

The proposed programme is as follows:

 

29-30th March 2017: Expo-cum-BSM,

29th March 2017: Inauguration of the Expo-cum BSM/ followed by B2B meetings at stalls of participating companies, Networking Dinner at Novotel, Yangon, Myanmar

30th March 2017: Expo-cum-BSM continued. Post lunch conference and closing programme.

Top officials of Ministry of Health of Myanmar, Regulatory Officials and business representatives will be invited. An aggressive promotional campaign will be launched to mobilize participation of the local industry.

This is project is under MAI so it is highly subsidized. Participating members will have to bear their own travel and hotel accommodation. Pharmexcil will provide the details of hotel for stay. We are taking help of Embassy to get preferred rate of Hotel for stay. Further Pharmexcil will assist members to get the VISA.

 

With support from Embassy and MIBC, the local Chamber, Pharmexcil will be mobilizing participation of all stakeholders for the Show and Seminars. The show will be marketed through focused media campaign in Myanmar.
